These images come from an instrument that was built by a colleague, William Sharp and myself. It is called a scanning light microscope, or some refer to it as a scanning light macroscope.

The unique feature of this photographic technique is there are no out of focus areas. It also has the effect of accenting minute details. More on this technique can be found in the article linked here.

These images were first exhibited in 2001. The actual print sizes are 40 X 40 inches & 40 & 20 inches.
